Sister = Best Friend

SISTERS ARE GREAT!  YOU CAN TOTALLY BE YOURSELF AND LAUGH AT EACH OTHERS WEAKNESSES!  YOU CAN BE HONEST AND SILLY!  MY SISTER JUL IS THE BEST!  SO CREATIVE AND FUN TO BE WITH.  ON OUR ROADTRIPS WE SING OLD SONGS THAT I USE TO PLAY ON MY GUITAR IN LIKE 7TH GRADE. WE SHARE OUR INNER-MOST THOUGHTS AND WORRIES.  WE GO TO ALL OF OUR FAVORITE QUILT STORES AND OTHER BOUTIQUES.  WE GO TO THE MOVIES AND DRIVE-THRU WINDOWS FOR OUR DIET COKES. WE ARE BOTH A LITTLE IMPULSIVE SO WE HAVE TO HELP EACH OTHER STAY FOCUSED.  WE LAUGH AT EVERYTHING AND BECOME EXTRA DITZY.  JUL IS A GREAT MOTHER AND HAS REALLY TRIED HARD TO BE THE SPIRITUAL LEADER IN HER HOME.  I ADMIRE HER FOR HER STRENGTH.  THE LORD KNOWS HER HEART AND I KNOW SHE WILL BE BLESSED FOR HER ENDLESS EFFORTS.  OUR RELATIONSHIP HAS GROWN OVER THE YEARS AND IT'S GREAT TO HAVE HER AS MY SISTER AND BEST FRIEND!

MACEY.....

Macey is super talented in the arts!  she was chosen in her senior class to paint this Bengal of the Hall of Fame wall.  first she sketched it and then she put it on an overhead projecter and traced it on the wall.  From there it took lots of long hours to draw, paint and shade.  She has been blessed with many gifts and talents.  She has a good, logical head on her shoulders and makes good decisions.  She is a hard worker and is responsible with her time and ambitions.  She sets her goals high and is focused on her goals.  I need to trust her more!  She is smart and thoughtful.  She enjoys adventure.  She just tried skydiving in Hawaii during her spring break.  She is beautiful and we all love and miss her so much.

What an awesome night to be out with friends!  I love to spend time with other good women who inspire me and make me laugh.  Linda had some extra tickets for a country music concert honoring some of the great women in country music.  I love country music and was excited to see who would be preforming.  The highlight of the night was when Carrie Underwood sang...."How Great Thou Art".  It was beautiful and uplifting.  Since it was on a Monday night, Jamie said that song made it "Family Night" for all of us.
I'm sure going to miss all my friends in the Canyon Gate ward.  I can't express my love enough for so many of them.  They have been there for me when I have gone through different challenges with my kids.  They have been wonderful listening ears and given me comfort and friendship.  They have been examples of Christ through all of their service in our ward family.  They have taught me gospel principles by the way they live their lives.  They have shown me how they handle trials in their own lives by continuing to be faithful and obedient.  They have shown me how much fun a group of women can have, especially at girls camp in the kitchen.  They have shown me how to be a good mother.  They have taught me how to be a better cook.  They have motivated me to develop my talents and use them to benefit others.  They have loved my kids!  They have bought food from my kids to help them earn money for summer camps.  They have taught me to magnify my callings by magnifying their own.  They have allowed  me to serve them when times have been tough.  They have taught me to believe in miracles and see how the atonement can work for everyone.  The women in my Canyon Gate ward are special women.  How can I leave such a great ward?  This question keeps going through my mind.  I am supporting my husband and trying to follow the spirit.  It will be a challenge but I know that we have been called to this new place for a reason and we will go with a bright countenance.  I can take all that I have learned from the past 22 years in Vegas and use it to build the kingdom in Texas.  Life is for learning and growing and we won't be given any trial that we can not overcome.  I love the women in my ward!  I love all that they stand for and all that I have learned from them.

Gary's sister Ilene was in an accident on March 14th.  She was on her early morning bike ride when she was hit by a car.  She has been in a coma ever since.  She is progressing a little by opening her eyes and other movements.  Prayers are being offered on her behalf everyday.  She is an teacher at Kitty El. school.  I have so many good memories of her.  She has so many talents and gifts.  We never know when life will throw us a curve.  Gary's family has come together in service and love.  There is so much we all want to do yet her life is in the Lord's hands and will be healed on His time frame.  May the Lord bless Scott, her husband.  Jason, Chad and Jackie. Also Taylor who is serving a 2 year mission for our church.

Life is so short.  Relationships are so important.  My heart goes out to the Sorenson Family.

COURT is fun-loving and very energetic!  He has been home from his mission for 4 months now.  He served in the Houston, Texas, South mission which he loved.  Since he has returned he has been very ambitous working 3-4 jobs.  He has always been a hard worker and bit of a perfectionist.  He has a great sense of humor and loves to pick on his sisters (I know they love it!)  He is currently moving to Texas with us in June but that seems to change every other day.  It has been a very difficult decision for him to make.
